We respect the commitment and trust that members place in us when signing up for our Local Food Boxes. In return, we focus on these core values:
Transparency – We’ll answer any questions you might have honestly and in detail, as well as provide a financial breakdown at the end of each season so you can see the value of your Box, and which farms your food is coming from.
Quality – We aim to provide the freshest, healthiest vegetables possible – everything is freshly harvested that morning or the day before – providing members delicious and nutritious food that’s fun to eat!
Sustainability – We want members to eat happy, knowing that all of our vegetables are grown organically in healthy soils with priority given to farmers right here in Muskoka, and everything coming from within 100 miles. This feeds back to the quality of our food, while also directly supporting our food security and local economy.
Working cooperatively as farmers, The Local Food Box allows your local farmers to focus on what we do best – grow amazing food for our community. Purchasing directly from farmers ensures fair prices for both farmers and eaters.
Our Local Food Boxes supply organically grown produce by farmers focused on building soil fertility using cover crops, compost, and best management practices. There are no pesticides, herbicides, chemical fertilizers or genetically modified seeds used on our farms.
